So there she was, coming off the airplane with her violin in a case around her shoulders, out of the Nework airport to visit the city. Her city. Also her mentor. It was about midnight when she caught her cab to the city. As usual, the traffic was terrible so when she got to Broadway, Ophelia got out and started walking. She could find her way around any where in New York. A chill ran over her skin as the air of the city ripped down the street. She was back.
While walking down to her mentor's appartment, she realized something. Oh shit...this isn't good, she thought. She realized that her return to the city had put her in a good amount of danger. There had been a hunter running amuck through the streets of New York in specific areas where vampires and werewolves inhabited. Not only that, she was walking right into the prime area were most of the attacks were. It's better if I go there from the roof, that hunter won't be able to keep up with me if I go parkouring. So the next alley she happened upon, she built up as much momentum as she could and jumped to a fire escape, then to the facing wall, to the next wall until she hit the roof of the building. The lights of the city dazzled as another brisk wind sent her trench coat and hair flying. Alright, lets go!!
Ophelia took a few steps back before running and leaping to the next roof. She was rather happy she didn't wear her heels while riding her way over. It really was quite difficult to run in heels, not to mention jump. Run, run, run, JUMP! Her violin case thumped against her back, but she wasn't really bothered by it. She made a smooth landing to another five buildings, then something caught her attention. An incredibly strong sense of blood. She stopped on the flat iron rooftop. The smell was so strong in made her nauseous. Walking to the side of the building the smell was coming from, she covered her nose and mouth with her leather sleeve and peered over the side of the builiding. There below, to her horror, was a human, tearing open the body of a werewolf with long, curly, red hair. She couldn't move. Thoughts were racing through her head. What if he looks up? What if he chases me? What will happen next? Did he get Illiana? Her last thought rested on her mentor, Illiana. My god. Please, if you can still hear me. Let her still be alive.
She couldn't stand there any longer. The smell of the poor disembowled creature was sickening and she could've sworn she heard a giggle from the man below. What a sadistic bastard, she thought as Ophelia readied herself to jump again. Taking a few steps back, she started to run and leapt for the next building. "You're next vampire!!!" her stomach dropped. The worst had happened, she'd been noticed. Oh shit...why now??? The only logical to do right now is run. Run. Run. Run. JUMP. Three blocks later she stopped on top of a rather tall building. Tip-toeing to the side of the building she realized something. Smoke bombs. He was trying to throw off her sense of smell. Then she saw him. The hunter. What's that he's carr-oh fuck!!! He had a crossbow in his hand as he drifted in and out of the shadows.
This was no time to panic. However, Ophelia could only think of one thing to do. RUN!! She took off in another direction as he fired a shot. Missed by a yard. Keep running. She could see the light from Illiana's apparetment in the distance about two hundred yards away. Ophelia passed over two more buildings and leapt for the fire escape in front of the lighted window and pounded on it. "ILLIANA!!" She didn't have time to wait. Ophelia broke a hole in the window pane and unlached the window. With that yanked the window up and scrambled inside to the old, familiar appartment as another wooden stake wizzed by.
