Galient's smile was saintly as he overlooked the photos. "You're beautiful, Ophelia." He turned back and kissed her cheek. I wonder how long this 'honeymoon' sense will last, he asked himself. If this should last a lifetime, it would be a great experience, to be a vampire. But, just being in love with no backbone. Well, he'd been there and he did not want to go back. Galient ruffled his hair and turned back to the pictures. Perhaps she still had some of the outfits she wore in the pictures. Now, Galient thought, that would be a fun show. He then realized something. A scent, more spicy and salsa like and tingly to his nose, passed by the window. It seemed delayed. He had smelled it during their...session, but he hadn't noticed it so strongly as of now. It was the smell of the human blood in the refrigerator, it was more like a tang. Like a different form of blood. A vampire? Galient asked himself. He couldn't be sure. He stood, slid on his boxers and roamed to the window to see if anything was outside.
There was no sign of anything except for the scent. Galient looked down, and saw nothing. Perhaps it was just a bird who had been fed on by a vampire. So it carried its scent with it as it passed by the window. But, Galient was still skeptic on why he smelled it so strongly now, rather than before.

Ophelia smiled as he kissed her cheek and whispered "Thank you." Leaning her head over on Galient's shoulder she relaxed. I hope this lasts for a while, she thought. This is bliss. Looking back down at the album, she turned the page. The next one was sort of an artistic nude picture. Ophelia was wrapped in a satin gunmetal fabric and had her customary red lipstick on. Her hair was curled and fell to her waist. Her expression was one of complete innocence. She had to admit, this was one of Ophelia's favorite photos.
Ophelia had noticed Galient's attention had turned to something else. So you finally noticed it? She knew Ricky had peaked through the window a few hours earlier. His scent was still very strong. When Galient stood and went to the window, she smiled. "I see you finally got your sense of smell, I was waiting for you to notice on your own." Ophelia slipped from the bed and stood next to Galient. "Ricky's who you're smelling now. He was the young vampire who hit on me the other day... I wonder what he was doing, peaking through the window like that? At least the blinds were drawn..." She said, looking back up at Galient.

He nodded, but his stature and facial expression hardened to a thinking pose. His brows made a line on his forehead. "Yes... I can't imagine what he might have done if he saw..." He looked down at Ophelia and smiled his crooked grin. He turned back to the window and said, very thoughtfully and gently, "I'm going to go outside to see if he's still here. This enhanced sense is very useful." He strode across the room with his hand in Ophelia's, dragging her beside him downstairs. He wasn't afraid for himself, but rather if Ricky was here, what he would do to Ophelia if he got there before Galient did. Galient shook away this thought violently, telling himself that Ophelia could fight for herself. She was tough enough, although sometimes she didn't seem that way. Galient glanced at Ophelia behind him, she was following close behind, and and grinned to himself at nothing.
So, Ricky...he said to himself as he took a huge wiff of the air. A spicy scent burst into his nostrils and he ad to close his eyes to not sneeze because the scent was so strong and he had inhaled so fast. He'd have to remember to brace himself before breathing all the time. Especially when he would be outside. There would be way too many scents to handle if he didn't breath in right. He tried to memorize the smell, how the scent's mixture was in his nose. To remember to stay away from this smell.

Ophelia nodded and was pleasantly surprised when Galient clutched her hand. She smiled quaintly and followed him down the stairs and through the living room into the cold night air. No Ricky, she thought to herself. What were you doing there? I wonder. What a peeping-tom!
"Well, he isn't here, though his scent is everywhere." Ophelia said, squeezing Galient's hand. "No, he's not here, you'd not just smell him, you'd sence him too. It's kind of like when you're a human, you feel someone watching you and you turn towards the person looking at you. It's like that, only more intence." The wind began to blow and Ophelia shuddered against Galient, sending her hair into a flurry of white blonde. Even goosebumps appeared on her moon-colored skin. "I will never get used to how cold I am all the time...no matter how old I am, I hate the feeling!" Ophelia explained, looking up at Galient. It was a calm night despite the hurried winds blowing through the woods. The only thing that bothered Ophelia was the scent of Ricky being blown about, however, Galient's pleasant sea breeze-like scent fixed that.

Galient's attention went from Ricky's scent to Ophelia's. It was sweet, like candy. But also with some bit of bitterness, it was like a coffee with a lot of sugar in it. It still had a little kick in it, but still that same taste of coffee. Galient turned to Ophelia, not smiling, but blinking slowly. He took in a breath and sighed softly. He was thirsty, he couldn't deny it, but that next picture in the book he had skipped over had intrigued him. He wanted to go back upstairs once he was done feeding. He smiled at absolutely nothing and turned, still holding onto Ophelia's hand. "I hope you have enough blood for both of us to feed. Especially since I'm a newborn." Galient blushed and half-smiled. He walked into the kitchen, letting go of Ophelia's hand, not sure if she wanted to follow him or not.
He dug into the refrigerator, the bottom drawers, he remembered. So he drew out a bag of blood and drank it. Slowly, but eagerly, ready to get the hunger away. He wondered if the thirst would ever go away. From what he knew, it wouldn't. But what did he know? He never interviewed his prey. Just killed and destroyed. He would soon find out what he wished he knew.

Ophelia smiled back at him, "Fledgling," she corrected him. She could feel his hunger and realized she was feeling a tad peckish herself. Following him by the hand back into the house she responded, "Don't worry, I'm going to have another shipment in pretty soon." Ophelia relished the warmth of the house and took a sigh of relief. Silk is never the best fabric to go outside at night in...especially when you have nothing else on underneith it, she noted to yourself.
Ophelia sat down at the kitchen table and watched Galient as he took a pack from the fridge and gradually began to jug it."You seem oddly well ajusted...I'd imagine this would be a bit harder for you then this." The sentance had just been blurted out for no rhyme or reason, but it had seemed strange to Ophelia how well he was taking this new "life". She didn't mean that he needed to struggle to learn new things. She understood that some people adapt very well to change. Still, loss of life and still living through other means is another thing entirely.

Galient smiled and winked at Ophelia once he was done with his blood pack. He took in a deep breath through his mouth and sighed while closing his eyes. Ophelia was right, he had been accustomed to this new way of living very easily, it was almost impossible. It was impossible mostly because of what had happened to him, and how he had learned about vampires. You would've thought that he would need more than a year or so to get used to the new way of life. But it had only taken Galient a day, so it seemed improbable. He then thought that maybe the intensity would kick in a day. Maybe in just an hour.
Galient sat down next to Ophelia, watching her delicate moves. He grinned at nothing and kissed her cheek. He had done this, again, for no reason, but just for pure pleasure and enjoyment, hopefully for hers too. He bit his lip and looked away, ashamed of his thoughts. What if, possibly, Ophelia wouldn't last? What if he did something terrible and they had an argument which separated them forever? He grimaced and growled, to get the thoughts away, to chase them away. He didn't need any of those foolish thoughts in his head, even if they could be probable.

He didn't speak, Ophelia thought, oh well, maybe he is just that type of person. Adept at new things...and lifestyles. She shruged and smiled when Galient kissed her cheek. She did enjoy it, emencly. Every time he did something affectionate to her, she'd swoon a little bit and feel rather giddy. Not exactly like a little school girl would feel, but close enough.
Ophelia scooted her chair over to Galient and leaned her head against his shoulder, nuzzling it slightly. Ophelia felt like this sort of behaviour would go on forever, and she hoped it did. It was peaceful, pretending that they were the only people in the world. She just couldn't wipe the smile off her face, that is until, she looked up to see Galient scowling. "Galient?" She asked, her voice with a note of worry in it. "What are you thinking about?" That's when something hit her. A new sort of sense. She knew what he was thinking and feeling; was this some sort of empathic ability? "Galient, don't even think about that." The whisper crossed her lips as Ophelia straightened up and kissed him gently.

Galient smoothed his scowl as Ophelia kissed him sweetly. He kissed her back, just as gently as her but also passionately. He put his hand on her cheek and backed away an inch, "Promise me something, Ophelia." He said calmly, leaning his head against hers. He didn't wait for her to reply, he went ahead and spoke. "Promise me that whatever wrong thing I do, you'll love me anyways." He looked into her eyes sadly and let her know with his mind that he was severely serious. "Please, just promise me that, and I'll be happy." He adjusted his weight in his seat as he waited for Ophelia to reply either with a promise or a declination.
Galient blinked unknowingly, asking himself, How did she know what I was thinking before? The horrible things he had been thinking while he had been scowling. Could she read his mind now that they had intertwined with each other? That could be a possibility, but he couldn't be sure.

Resting his forehead to her's, Ophelia gazed at him and listened intently as he spoke. A small smile found its way to her lips as she listened to his purposal. It's too late for that, my love, she thought to herself. I already love you unconditionally. Even if you kill me, if you kill yourself, I will always love you. And maybe, just maybe you can hear these words I think.
"I promise!" Ophelia responded, nodding and stealling another kiss from Galient's lips. "No matter what you do, I will forgive and love you." With that, rested her head on his shoulder, smiling, wanting nothing more than to be as close to him as possible. Nothing else mattered right now. Ophelia hated to see Galient down, his smile would light up the room, even if it was just his crooked smile. So, to lightened the mood, she asked "Do you want to return to the album?" Before he could answer she added "I think I'll bring it down." With that, Ophelia scurried up the stairs for a moment to get it, followed closely by Bianca.
