Galient let his head fall lower and look down as Ophelia ran up the stairs to fetch the book. He had wanted to look at the book again, so he was a bit happier now, although it didn't look that way. His head drooped down so he could his toes. He wiggled them silently, seeing if they were the same toes he had had for nineteen years. Apparently yes, they were. He laughed a little and smiled brightly at absolutely nothing again. What was this sudden drowsiness--no, not drowsiness, insanity and depression--he felt? He couldn't pin point it directly, why he had this feeling, but he knew it was probably not good. He had never felt so odd in a long time. It was usually the same feelings over and over. Maybe these mood changes were because of Ophelia. Not in a bad way, but a good way. It was like his feelings were all coming out at once, like a child. Giddy and happy one minute, angry and depressed another. He felt confused now. Why would this just suddenly happen? Being a vampire was going to be tough, he finally decided.
Galient stood and walked into the living room, then sat on the couch. He waited for Ophelia silently, hoping to not upset her by his noticeable mood swings. He sighed and spread his arms wide across the back of the couch then decided it would be more comfortable to use his arms as a pillow. So he bent his arms at the elbow and put his hands behind his head, supporting its weight. He breathed in and out, still quaintly smelling Ricky's scent. Galient growled quietly and closed his eyes.

Ophelia burst through the bedroom door and snatched the notebook from the bed. Something caught her attention; Ricky's scent was stronger for some reason. Ophelia shrugged it off and assumed that Galient had opened the window. It would let the smell spill in with all the wind blowing around. Without looking, she left the room, shutting the door behind her.
Nearly tripping over Bianca, Ophelia flew down the stairs with the album in hand. She landed gracefully at the bottom of the stairs in the living room, and looked to the couch. A smile lit upon her face to see Galient in a rather relaxed looking possion. Walking over with the utmost grace and sat next to Galient, placing the album between their laps. With this, Ophelia opened it to the picture she turned to previously. It was artistic: Ophelia was wrapped in a satin gunmetal colored cloth right over her bust, her hair was in messily large curls, and had no make up. Her expression was that of pure innocence and her skin was as pale as ever. This was one of Ophelia's favorite portraits taken.

Galient opened his eyes as Ophelia plopped down beside him and set the book down next to both of their inner thighs. Galient quickly sat up and ruffled his hair, settling himself into the seat. He looked at the photo once again, the same once he had been attracted to earlier. He was still attracted to it apparently. He overlooked the photograph, analyzing Ophelia's cloth draping over her naked body and her figure, which was mesmerizing. Galient smiled devilishly and bit his lip for no apparent reason. Maybe it was because Ophelia looked ravishing in the photo, she was quite stunning. Galient looked over at Ophelia and wiped away a hair from her face. "You look beautiful, darling. I don't know how this photographer could have captured all of your beauty though. It's impossible to do that." Galient gave Ophelia his crooked smile and it seemed like he was about to brighten the mood in the room.
The mood had been somewhat upsetting since Galient had smelled Ricky's scent, and that feeling had not gone away. Not even now. He could still smell it strongly. The only place he could not sense it was Ophelia, because she couldn't possibly smell like him, she had been with Galient the whole time Ricky had been here. So what was making this scent so strong? It was making his nose itch, it was so heavy with spices and salts. It smelled like a mood. Galient couldn't describe it to himself, but it smelled as if Ricky felt jealousy. And anger, it seemed. Those were not the best of a combination. Galient ddn't waver, not for a moment, but he could sense a wariness in the scent. Then it returned as strongly as before. A chill ran down Galient's spine. What was that? he asked himself. He unfolded his arm and put it around Ophelia, keeping her close. He didn't know what was happening, or what was going to happen, but he certainly did not have a good feeling about it.

Ophelia's cheeks turned red as cherries as Galient brushed the hair from her face and complimented her. Looking back at him she returned his crooked smile with a less crooked one. I hope this means you're feeling better love, she thought. "Thank you m'dear," she said leaning in to kiss his cheek. It seemed like he was a bit happier now, and she hoped he was.
When Galient's expresion changed again back to his sullen stature. Ophelia sighed and leaned her head on his shoulder. She knew what was wrong. He was afraid Ricky would come back, or if he was still here, watching and waiting for something. That would make sense, she thought to herself, he might still be here. At that moment a shiver rolled down Ophelia's spine and her eyes widened, that was conformation enough. Apparently, Galient felt it too and wrapped his arms around her. Ophelia snuggled herself into his chest, trying to rid the hot scent of Ricky from her nostrals. "I think he's still lurking about...you felt that too didn't you?" She said looking up at Galient, in question. "That would make sense why his scent is still so strong." Taking a deep breath of Galient's sea-breeze scent, refreshing her nose and relaxing a bit.
Bianca wasn't too happy either. At the moment she was staring out the window above the kitchen window. Her ears were twitching constantly and her head turned, revealing incredibly large pupils. That's when Opehlia knew something was wrong.

Galient winced as he smelled the scent, but then, oddly, it got away before he could even get a full whiff of it. He stood, ready to search the house, but didn't know if he should or not. After all, he was a fledgling and he could do horrible things if he actually followed Ricky to wherever he was going. Galient sighed and decided to just take a walk outside, to refresh himself from the new transformation. This was all going very fast for Galient, but that might be because he was a human and, well, everything had always happened too fast for Galient. His parents' and sibling's death, one of his earliest memories, and pretty much his training with his sensei, Stefan...
Galient took a step forward, looking back to Ophelia, "Would you like to take a walk with me around the woods? Just a small one, I don't want to get too close to the city." Galient took in a breath, oddly, after speaking and caught the same whiff. He tried to ignore it, so he could wait for Ophelia's response, but she probably smelled it too. He held his breath in and didn't let it out. Maybe he wouldn't sense anything if he held his breath. He was wrong, he could still sense a strange presence. A cold presence, one that felt like spikes were running down your back everytime you thought about it. Galient shivered.

Ophelia didn't want to let go of Galient as he stood. She could feel something, creeping through the woods, whether it was Ricky or something else, she didn't know. She heard something that sounded like a stone skidding along roots and and ground. Ophelia felt the need to grab Galient's hand as he started to walk toward the door. Don't go out there!! Her thoughts and senses were screaming at her, she didn't want to chance going outside now.
Ophelia shook her head in silence, and got up to hold Galient. She never realized how clingy she was when these things happened. "We need to turn off every light," Ophelia began to whisper to him, standing on her toes to reach his ear. "Shut every window and turn on a fan to circulate the air in the house, that will get rid of our scents. It might confuse whoever, or whatever, is outside." This wasn't the first time Ophelia had dealt with some sort "stalker" as she liked to call them. When she went to her parent's summer cottage in upstate New York, she experienced her first one. It was terrifying, one of her worst memories in fact.
By this time, Bianca had slipped underneath the couch, Ophelia knew that wasn't a good sign. Kissing Galient's cheek, she slipped over to the front door and locked it, clicking the living room lights off as well. Zipping around the house, she shut all the blinds but was reluctant to go upstairs. Earlier, she noticed her bedroom window was open. Biting her bottom lip, she motioned Galient to go upstairs with her, she defiantly didn't want to go up there alone.

Galient understood her motions immediately as she walked to the stairs. Galient nodded slowly and began to walk up first, careful of any creature that might jump or attack him. He took the steps slowly, making them each one particular move. He made no sounds as he took steps, maybe it was because of his unusual vampire grace. That was probably it, he realized. Galient reached the top step and held Ophelia's hand, who was behind him. He dare not take in a breath, afraid of what he would smell. What odd things might be leering in the darkness of corners and shadows. Galient walked into the bedroom, still grasping Ophelia's hand frantically. His legs almost gave in when he saw the window open. He had forgotten they'd left it open. He ran to the door, letting go of Ophelia's hand, and shut the window loudly, accidentally. "Oops..." He said, startled by the loud and creaking sound of the window's pane.
Galient looked down from the window, shoving the drapes away from the scene going on down below. He was shocked to fins nothing staring up at the second-story window. He scanned the forest, sensing nothing from within or outside of the house. He sighed and looked down. Really, he asked himself, I just got to be a vampire, and already, I'm faced with danger. He grumbled silently and rolled his eyes.

Ophelia's grip on Galient's hand was emencly tight as they climbed the stairs. It felt to go on forever, never reaching the top. Hairs were prickling up the back of her neck still. She could feel whatever was outside moving, but it no longer felt like it was only one being. It felt like several. When they finally reached the top of the stairs, the feeling began to disapate and Ophelia sighed in relief. Something still seemed odd though.
Sneaking into her bedroom, Ophelia scanned the area. Nothing out of place...except the window. She hadn't noticed when Galient flew to the window, but jumped when he slammed the window. He's gotten faster, she thought, he used his speed. This thought made her smile, you're adapting so well love. Following him to the window, she looked over his shoulder to the ground. Nothing. Ophelia noticed her senses were clear. There was nothing around. A snicker escaped her throat as she momentarily put her head on Galient's shoulder. "We're such chickens!" She giggled a bit more and sat on the edge of her bed. "I bet it was just a werewolf pack taking a moonlight run."

Galient chuckled when Ophelia did. He loved her laugh, like every other inch of her. He sighed and walked to Ophelia, sitting on the bed now, and knelt in front of her. He ran his fingers through her hair and smiled. You are so beautiful, Ophelia. He meant it to be a spoken sentence, but he didn't speak. His crooked smile returned and a quiet chuckle ran from his lips. I love you so much, he said to Ophelia in his mind. You probably know that though, don't you? Galient sighed and kissed Ophelia gently on the lips. He suddenly got an idea. An abnormal idea, yes, but possible. He tucked away the memory inside his mind and promised not to bring it back out for awhile. Hopefully, things wouldn't turn to it soon. He wanted to wait for the perfect moment.
Galient caressed her cheek as he leaned back onto his heels. I never want to be away from you. Galient's emotion, he could even feel it forming, changed into a vibrant and excited feeling. Maybe he would need that thought sooner than planned, he spoke inwardly.

Ophelia smiled down at him when he knelt in front of her. Galient's fingers in her made a shiver go down her spine. Not the kind she had felt moments earlier, but a good shiver. The kind you feel when you hear beautiful music, or in this situation, where someone you love touches you. Ophelia's were closed when Galient kissed her and she returned the gesture. Ophelia could sense what he was thinking in an odd way, she read through emotions and not words. However, this didn't distract her from kissing him as she did.
When she pulled away, Ophelia rested her head against his and smiled. You're so sweet. I love you so much. The thoughts were meant to be spoken, but she wondered if he could hear her thoughts at times too. Not to dwell on serious things at the moment, Ophelia nuzzled his nose playfully and kissed him again. Then something came to her that made her smile. The rematch. Galient said he wanted a rematch from the night he was turned. "So...." she started "How about that rematch?"
