Ayre slowed down to a casual walk when he got to the area. The male glanced over to the black-haired man beside him. Ayre was glad that Galient had thought up the idea for them to go first. Especially if it was somebody they knew. He let out a sigh and looked ahead. Through the array of tree he couldn't see them. Yet he could hear and smell them. Who could they be? Only one of them was human. The other two vampires. Were they feeding? If they were it would be a waste of time. Ayre would be ticked off too.
He walked forward. His careful steps barely made any noise even on the crunchy floor of the forest. Every once in a while there would be a crack of a tqig but nothing to bad. At least he didn't go sprawling on his face. Now that would suck. The voices got stronger as he walked. Almost there and then he would see who they were.
The male stopped and his breath caught in his throat. He could see the three and they were not feeding. Elod, was the one he was not surprised to see but Stefan and the third one. Ayre didn't believe his eyes. It was him. After twenty-two years he was still alive. All Ayre felt right now was disbelief. Was this some kind of sick joke? How could his father be here? "I-Impossible..."Ayre stammered quietly to himself.

Galient turned his head to Ayre. Did he smell Stefan, too? Most likey, if Galient could. Galient kept walking toward the scents, one of them human, Stefan, and the others vampires. Was Stefan that stupid that he would take on two vampires at once? Hadn't he tried that once? Galient shook his head and as he observed the other scents, he could've swore that Ayre's scent had gotten mixed up in his senses, but he figured out that no, Ayre was still on the other side of Galient's senses. But this scent was so familiar. It was like Ayre, but mustier. When Galient caught up to Ayre, his eyes widened and for the third time since he'd gotten to Dawson, he slipped on a twig. "Dammit!" He yelled, not thinking about the consequences. Stefan was there, yeah, but he wasn't fighting. It looked, from Galient's short glance, like he was talking to them! Galient looked up at Ayre and cringed. He swiftly stood, his eyes glued on the three men. One was slim, the one he completely didn't know, with blonde hair. The other vampire looked exactly like...Galient turned to Ayre. "Ayre...Please tell me that isn't..." Galient trailed off. Galient looked back and realized that he was being stared at. He smiled sheepishly. "Hello, gentlemen." He said jokingly.

Elod's concentration was torn temporarily from the conversation at hand when a nearby man yelled and slipped on a twig. Elod swiveled around and fixed his gaze on the two newcomers, this place was starting to get pretty busy. He had been too distracted by his potential danger to notice their scents before, but now he could tell they were both vampires, and one seemed to be Ayre. He wondered what Joaquin's reaction would be when he found out his son had been turned into a vampire too, hopefully not too bad since he was a vampire himself. From the man's expression Elod could tell he already knew though, apparently that fight with Ricky hadn't gone so well, it was hard to say what had happened to the vampire though.
"Uh...hello?" ventured Elod suspiciously. Hopefully these two weren't still hunters as well, or he was completely screwed. What business would they have sneaking around here anyways? Maybe they had smelled the hunter and had come to chase him off. That would be an immense relief. Worst case scenario, they had smelled the vampires and had come to chase them off, either because they were hunters or because they considered this part of the woods their territory, Elod didn't fancy that idea much, he may be a good runner but he was a pathetic fighter. Sometimes he had to wish his brain would just shut up for a few minutes and stop making everything so complicated, being intelligent was a royal pain at times, but there wasn't really anything he could do about it.

Joaquin's breath caught in his throat. Was it really him? He looked just him. He had his broad shoulders and his chin, his hair and arms. That stature reminded him so much of himself. And then there was the one trait that was a dead ringer for Joaquin that he had not suspected Ayre had. Having fangs. Joaquin trembled. How had this happened? Elod had just told him that he was hunting a vampire and now he was one! This wasn't supposed to be how their reunion was to supposed to go. Joaquin shook his head and fell to his knees. It was curse! That he had been turned, and now his own son. By the same way, too, supposedly. And it looked like he had made a new friend. Was it the so-called Ricky? Joaquin looked up at the boy next to Ayre. "Tell me, boy, are you Ricky?" He wanted vengeance against him. He turned his only son! The one he thought had a chance at normal life!

Stefan looked to the strangers. Well they weren't strangers when he saw their faces. Ayre and Galient. They looked the same from when he last saw them. By Joaquin's expression he could tell that they had changed. The worst kind of change Stefan could probably think of. Both of his best students had been changed. Vampires. Until now he never had thought it could have happened. This wasn't the way it was suppose to be. Not like this. Stefan took it easier than Joaquin did though. Stefan knew that if he was in Joaquin's position he might have done the same thing. That had been his only son the only thing he had left. The only thing that had been human to him. now that was gone. Stefan had only seen a couple of his past students be vampires. But he had never thought of this happening to Galient and Ayre. It was almost unbelievable.

Galient stared at Stefan's face. It was so heart-wrenching, Galient almost broke down and groveled to Stefan's feet. But he wouldn't. Not if he wanted Stefan to see he was a respectable vampire, not one who fed mercilessly. Galient turned to the man on the ground, Ayre's father. He knew now. No one else would react that way. Because that's exactly how Ayre reacted to things. Galient shook his head. "No, sir. I am Galient, a friend of your son's." Galient turned to Ayre. If his father was in so much pain right now, why wasn't he helping him? Well, there was the fact that he thought he was dead for the past twenty or so years, and he had been a vampire all of this time, so of course Ayre wouldn't want to be compassionate. Galient stood tall and dared to look back into Stefan's features. "I'm so sorry, sir." And that was all he could say.

This was unbelievable. Ayre opened his mouth to speak but found no words to express himself. What was he feeling? Anger,Happiness, Distrust? No, confusion. Ayre took a tentative step forward. Right now he was sort of dreading actually coming. He took another step then another till he was only a foot away from the group. He looked at his father, His was still a mask of disbelief. "Get off the floor, father. You look pitiful. I'm a vampire not dead. Not as I thought you were."His tone wasn't mad. Just empty, almost. He was still in shock. Ayre then looked up to Stefan. "Hello. It's nice to see you again. It's been a long time."He smiled weakly. He hoped Stefan didn't expect much from him right now. He couldn't please everybody. not even himself. Ayre then looked over to Elod who was just standing there, looking awkward. "As for you,Elod. It hasn't been that long."

This scene was getting seriously tense. At about this time Elod was beginning to wish vampires had the power of invisibility so he could disappear. Clearly Joaquin, and to some extent Stefan were upset about Ayre's transformation. Apparently Stefan knew Ayre and the newcomer, now identified as Galient, how he knew them was still a complete mystery though, just about everybody here seemed to be connected in some way except Elod. He wasn't sure whether this was a blessing or a curse. Perhaps it was his own fault anyway, he hadn't exactly hesitated to burn all the bridges in the past, so to speak.
Elod blinked out of his silent contemplation of the scenario when Ayre said something to him, "Eh? Oh..yeah, not very long," he mumbled in a somewhat incoherent reply, not completely paying attention. This was partially due to the emotional tension going on between all the people here, partially due to the fact he was surrounded from all sides by possibly four hunters, several of which looked like they wanted to take their anger out on somebody, Elod really hoped it wasn't him, and partially because he hadn't completely gotten over his small harmless crush on Ayre, though that was the certainly least of his concerns right now. Elod looked down at the ground uncomfortably and hoped the conflict was resolved very, very soon.

Joaquin stood and was, surprisingly, very close to Ayre. There was irt all over Joaquin's pants, but he didn't care. He furrowed his brow and looked at Ayre with a serious expression. It was him. He shook his head, and glanced down. "How was I supposed to find you, Ayre? Was I supposed to come after you when I clearly didn't know how to control myself? When I could've hurt you and your mother?" He swallowed the lump in his throat. He wasn't going to look like a fool in front of his son. Neither his friend, Galient nor Elod. And not Stefan. He wouldn't make a idiot of himself. April. Ayre's mother. He wondered how she was. "Ayre...how is your mother? Is she well?" He just wanted to know. So that he could have a little bit of peace in his mind.

Stefan looked at Ayre in surprise. He was so much...mature than before. Galient too. Theyr eally had grown up. Although this was more of a serious time. He wondered if they still acted the same with each other when it came to messing around. They had always gotten along with each other better than the others. For the situation that had arisen Ayre was handling himself very well. How long had Ayre been a vampire? Who changed him? How long had Galient been a vampire and who changed him? So many question so little time to get them answered. When Joaquin asked Ayre how his mother was Stefan bit the insdie of his lip. So he didn't know. After all this he didn't know. Part of Stefan wasn't surprised while the other part was. He wondered how this would go down.
