Galient was suprised at Ophelia's cautious behavior. He smiled a little and kept quiet behind her, listening intently to the rain and any other things happening in the forest. He wondered how far they were from the road. Pssibly not even a mile, but it could be awhile. He had lost his sense of direction a few moments after they had started talking. He just hadn't told Ophelia. He wasn't very good at keeping good nature skills...he had failed at all of the tracking tests in Hunter lessons...
That reminded him of his old friends. His old teacher...everyone that he had left behind to become what seemed like was best at the time. And he didn't regret it fully, but he did regret not getting to say goodbye to his friends before he was eternally transformed into the living dead. He sighed and kept his eyes on the ground, carefully stepping over each rock and twig. Maybe things would get better, and he would forget his old life. Perhaps not remember anything that he had so quickly and absent-mindedly left behind.

Ophelia gripped Galient's hand rather tightly as she led him through the thick, damp wood. They weren't too far from the road, she could tell from their surroundings and the musty smell that hadn't been washed away by the rain. Moss layed across the bark of a rather large oak tree, telling her that they were in the right direction. Moss usually grows on the North side of the tree, she thought to herself.
Shivers rolled up and down Ophelia's spine as her feet met wet ground. I hate getting my feet wet! She thought to herself. She pursed her lips as her feet began to become cold, causing her to shake slightly. "It shouldn't be much further." She looked back at Galient and flashed him a reasuring smile, retightening her grip on his hand. Another shiver made its way down her spine. Not from the freezing coldness of her feet, but something else, something she couldn't identify completely. Luckily, she could see the shine of the black, wet pavement under the street lamp through the thicket of trees ahead.

Galient had been wandering off this whole time. Not with his feet, but with his mind. If Ophelia had said anything, he hadn't heard a word. It was like he had shut off his senses completely. It wasn't the smartest thing to do as a hunter, but he just didn't feel right tonight. Something about being drowsy and smelling Ricky's scent and all. The rain hadn't done much either. He looked at the stars above him and lost track of time. What time was it, he thought again. The stars didn't tell him anything. He had been tought how to use stars, but somehow being brain-dead tonight had affected some other skills he hadn't used in a long time. Skills he hadn't needed ever. But they had been told how to use them just in case. I guess this was one of those times, he thought.

What's with you, Galient? Ophelia asked him silently. He had been acting like a zombie ever since they entered the woods. Maybe it's because he's new to this. With all of these muddled scents, it's hard to keep your focus as a fledgling. Ophelia tightened her grip on Galient's hand and gave it a steady jerk, trying to get him to snap out of his funk.
The light on the road was perfectly clear through a small thicket of trees. The rain had stopped for the most part; it was still drizzling slightly. Ophelia let out a sigh as they finally left the woods and were back on the main road. Luckily it was well lit. It always made her feel better when things were well lit even though she didn't really need it any longer. Turning to Galient she smiled, stood on her toes and kissed his cheek. "Are you going to be okay? You seemed to be a bit overwhelmed with the rain."

His mind jolted back like rushing water, spilling from his ears. He looked at Ophelia. "I'm sorry...I've just been thinking about a lot of things..." He forced a smiled and kissed her head softly. he looked forward and saw the road and grinned. Finally...he thought. How long had it taken them just to walk through there? he asked himself. It seemed as if the woods had been larger than expected. Larger than what he'd walked when they'd first gone through. He tilted his head to the side, then turned his head back to the street. "Well, it's still rainging, so we'd better get a move on to inside. It's probably much warmer." Although neither of them cared about the cold, he had gotten a little annoyed with the rain that practically froze on his head.

Ophelia's eyes met the ground as he kissed her forehead. What's wrong? She thought, are you still thinking about your past. She wanted to ask him, but she couldn't bring herself to do so. "Yeah," she responded to him in a soft voice, "do you want to go back to the cabin or continue into town?" Ophelia swallowed nervously. She wasn't unsure why, but she felt on edge. She didn't feel safe in rain. It wasn't because of her past with water, it was the feeling of being desensitized. It was like being human again; unaware of the world around her. A sigh escaped her lips and took Galient's hand again, tangling her fingers in his and clutched her umbrella in her other hand, waiting for a reply.

Galient shrugged. "I say we continue walking on into town. What else could there be?" That's when Galient remembered seeing his old friend. or used-to-be friend, Ayre here a few days before. He would stop at nothing to destroy Galient and Ophelia if he saw them together. He was already pissed off that Galient had been turned into a vampire because he had fell in love with Ophelia, because Galient had told him absent-mindedly, but if he saw her, he'd most likely kill her just for turning Galient. He swallowed. Maybe it would be best to go back to the cabin. He gripped Ophelia's hand as he looked behind him. Of course it would be safer just to go on ahead because there must be people in town, while in the forest it was was only he and Ophelia. No one would even notice if they were being attacked. Galient turned back to towna dnstrode forward. "Come on," He said with a smile.

Something didn't feel right. She knew that there was something Galient wasn't telling her. Pursing her lips, Ophelia took Galient's hand, looked up into his dark brown eyes, and whispered, "What is it you're not telling me?" The orangy light of the street light beat down on them, weaving a false sense of security around Ophelia. Please let everything be alright, she thought, please tell me everything's alright.
A worried sigh crossed her lips as she shook her head. "Nevermind..." she said as she started to walk towards town, feeling his pace next to her's. The pair walked in and out of darkness and light via wet road and street lamps. The rain was lightening, but Ophelia couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. Something she had no control over and something she was most definately love to prevent.

Galient's senses were filled with wonder as he stepped into the bar. The beer and smoke filled his nostrils and eyes. His feet could sense the uneasy ground below them, probably the basement. He grinned. Maybe he would get so used to this, he wouldn't even care about never seeing or hearing from his old friends again. He would make new friends with vampires, hopefully. And he had Ophelia, sweet and beautiful Ophelia. He smiled and turned to Ophelia. "Nothing's wrong. Not now at the moment, anyway. I've just been thinking, you know." Galient let go of Ophelia's hand and stepped to the karaoke stagge in the other end of the bar. A tall, tan girl was standing in front of the crowd, singing dreadfully to what sounded like Moon River. He chuckled silently as her drunken voice filled his ears. He felt bad for himself and Ophelia, because they hadto hear it not only with non-drunk ears, but with extra-sensing. The drunks here would be amazed at her so-called beautiful voice they would hear. Galient would hear different.
The girl looked down at Galient and smiled droopily, a wink going slowly across her facial features. First her eyebrow twitched, then her cheek moved up, her eye closing ever-so-much and then her lips curling up with a half-smile, then her features drooped, stopping immediatiely what thy were doing. He was about to laugh when he realized why they had suddenly stopped moving altogether. She was passing out from the alcohol intake, he could smell her sweat and breath, and could hear her blood pumping quickly through her veins, possibly close to a heart-attack. She fell limp ad Galient caught her, barely, beyond the stage. "Someone, call a doctor!" He yelled in the bar, hoping the bartender wasn't as drunk as the other idiots in this place, other than Ophelia and himself. He glanced at the girl. Her cheeks were red with blood and her pulse thumped like a drumbeat in his arms, making his stomach growl and his throat grow dry. He teeth grew sharper in his mouth and a sweet scent filled his nose, somewhat like a margarita with sugar, but with a hint of gasoline or metallic. He closed his eyes and stopped his breathing, hoping it would go away as soon as he opened his eyes again.

Ophelia cringed as she was smacked in the face by the smell of alcohol and smoke, it was nearly sickening. Reopening her eyes, she looked up at Galient. 'Why are we here again?' she asked herself in thought. She nodded slightly in responce to him as his hand slipped from hers. Now feeling a bit uneasy from the slightly drunken eyes of mean peering at her, she followed in Galient's footsteps to the stage. Ophelia snickered slightly at the heavily intoxicated singer on stage.
Her lips tightened as the drunken karaoke girl winked at Galient. However, that tension soon vanished when the girl fell to the stage floor, passed out. Ophelia let a gasp pass her lips and grasped the girl's wrist, searching for her pulse. It was faint, but there. A sigh passed her lips. Ophelia had learned how to tame her thirst over the years, but she already knew, Galient wouldn't be able to for long. The bartender didn't respond when Galient called; he couldn't hear over the nose from the bar. Feeling heroine-esque, Ophelia jumped on stage and yelled into the microphone. "HEY!! Call 911!!! This girl passed out!!!"
