Ayre sighed and scratched the back of his head. He watched warily as the vampire stepped from the shadows. Ayre sheathed his stake for the time being. Sometimes the best approach was to just show that you meant no harm. Ayre was glad that this vampire didn't feel like a fight for the moment. He relaxed his stance. "Well thats sort of good to hear..."Ayre said awkwardly. He smiled lightly. "I'm Ayre Tristansi and you are?"He introduced himself. Ayre knew that if he met this vampire some other time he would probably have to kill him. After all it was his duty even though some vampires may not have meant harm they could not be trusted. The blood lust would have to come one time or another. After all of this was done he would go home and take a nice long nap. If he didn't get randomly attacked again.

Ricky watched as the conversation went on. He had calmed down from the last couple of minutes. He breathed in quietly and leaped from the top of the post, landing lightly next to Ayre. "Having a nice conversation, boys?" He asked, like a smartass. He smiled cheesily and stepped forward, holding out his hand. "Since we're introducing each other..." He looked at the vampire closely. He'd never seen him before, although Ricky had been one of the first vampires to even come to Dawson. He bit his lip lightly, "I'm Ricky." He grinned again as his hand lay there in front of the opposite vampire. This guy seemed trustable. not the kind of vampire that had slicked, greasy hair and leather with spikes. The stereotypical vampire-wear, as humans would believe. God, humans were stupid...Ricky thought. He couldn't believe he used to be one of them.

Elod relaxed slightly as the hunter, now identified as Ayre, tucked his stake away. Apparently hunters could be reasoned with after all, Elod mused that he may have slightly misjudged them, but only time would really tell. "Elod Springfield," he answered to Ayre's prompt, adopting a more casual stance since the danger seemed to have dissipated. Momentarily though, he was distracted from the current conversation as the other vampire hopped down from the top of the lamp post. Elod wasn't particularly keen on the manners of this one but then again he wasn't perfect either, and it seemed wise not to make enemies with any of Dawson's resident vampires. Elod calmly shook Ricky's hand, it occurred to him how hypocritical it was for the three of them to be making acquaintance with each other, two vampires and a man that normally would be trying to kill both of them. He glanced up at the darkening rainy sky and commented bemusedly, hoping to strike up some kind of conversation, "It's not very pleasant weather this evening."

Ayre glanced at Ricky as he jumped down beside him. He didn't move away or anything but simply looked back at Elod. "Pleasure to meet you,Elod." Ayre replied. He looked up at the drizzling sky. " Yeah, the weather has been pretty crummy lately." Ayre ran a hand through his wet hair and shook some of the water off. After being in the cold for so long,he wouldn't have been surprised to find himself with a cold later on this week. Ayre glanced over again at Ricky to see the vampire had calmed down. his breathing had evened to a relaxed state. Aye would have never though that he would be standing so close to two vampires and not have his stake pulled out. He guessed that things must be changing. There was no way that Ayre would go back on the oath that he made to his family those many years ago but it never said that he couldn't just strike up conversation with vampires then kill them later on. He had never felt any regret for his actions.

Ricky tilted his head back and laughed. "This is a bit of an ironic situation, isn't it?" He said, completely ignoring their conversation about the horrible weather. "Two vampires commonly speaking with a vampire hunter?" Ricky chuckled and splashed in a puddle as he walked over to Ayre. He leaned his elbow on Ayre's shouler, not really knowing whether Ayre would flip out or not. But if he did, Ricky already had his weapons bared, while Ayre's weapon was sheathed and at his side. Ricky and Elod had the upper hand on this fight. Plus, Ayre seemed exhausted. They could easily kill this guy. Ricky sighed, but then again he seemed like a nice enough fellow, and he looked like he was passing through. Why kill a man who might have a family, who didn't do a thing to you...yet? Ricky glanced at Ayre and smiled the most smooth smile he had probably ever done that wasn't for a female. He wanted to make this guy squirm, not feel comfortable. If he wouldn't kill him, he had to have some kind of fun, right?

Ayre glanced at Ricky as a weight settled itself on his shoulder. The kid was acting as if he had known him for years. "Yes,very ironic..."Ayre forced through his teeth. He was pissed right now. Ayre bit the inside of his lip to keep from punching Ricky in the face, making a fool of himself or getting himself killed by two vampires. He breathed a sigh and blinked. Ayre's hand twitched. He was itching to stab this blood-sucking smart-ass right now but he forced the feeling down. Then Ricky smiled. It about sent the hunter over the edge. It was one of those hungry smiles. He had seen them before. He knew that Ricky wouldn't bite him, yet, but it was still the smile. Ayre stepped back, making Ricky's shoulder fall. He then smiled back. It didn't look forced either even though it was. It was one of Ayre's dazzling smiles. The ones that he usually used on the girls that he dated. Sadly, the smile never seemed to do him any justice.

Apparently Ricky had been thinking the same thing, Elod noted, as the vampire randomly changed the conversation to the irony of this meeting. Elod had to admit he admired the guts of this unusual character, even if he was slightly annoying, not every vampire would walk over to a hunter and start acting like they were best buds. He was rather thankful he wasn't involved in the silent rivalry between the two however, because it was obvious, to Elod at least, that Ayre was restraining the urge to stab Ricky. It would be reasonable to presume that if Ayre hadn't been outnumbered and worn down he would've done so by now. He was interrupted from his train of thought however as the hunter started smiling, it was unlikely that he was doing so as any gesture of friendliness but Elod still felt his heart skip a beat. "Damnnit," he thought to himself furiously, "You are NOT getting a crush on a hunter. Snap out of it!"

Ricky raised his eyebrow at Elod. He sure was making an odd face. Ricky chuckled lightly and whiped his mouth, coughing a little. Only he could choke on air right now. While it was raining. He looked up at Ayre and laughed. "You know, for a vampire hunter, you sure suck at your job," Ricky walked over and poked Ayre's chest. "I thought hunters were supposed to hunt vampires, not chat with them." Ricky chuckled and walked back to his original spot, hoping Ayre wouldn't go after him while his back was turned. Who knew? Maybe Ayre was as stupid as he made it seem. Maybe he would try, and fail, to go against two vampires who were clearly less tireed than he was. Oh, what fun that would be. He would have such a fun time beating the crap out of this old man. Or maybe he would torture him and turn him into a vampire...Now that would be fun. Ricky grinned grimly.

Ayre clecnhed his jaw to keep from yelling out. He forced his voice to calm itself. "I don't suck at my job. It called not jumping to conclusions like you did when I talked about your precious Ophelia." Ayre wanted to strike this smart-ass vampire down so badly. How easy it would be just to take the stake out of it's sheath and stab it right into the vampires neck. He decided to urge ricky on,hoping it would work. "You touch me one more time your dead meat..."Ayre said darkly. He wasn't kidding. He would let go of all this anger right now just to land one punch to Ricky's face. He could feel a smirk edging its way to his lips.

Elod almost felt sorry for the vampire hunter...almost. He didn't share Ricky's same cruel sense of humor when it came to taunting humans, because who knows, perhaps Ayre even had a good reason for going after vampires. If all vampires treated him this way then that was likely reason enough. Then again, Elod pondered, his opinions were likely rather biased right now, he wasn't thinking straight. Blood, that was what he had come out for, that was what he needed to gain clarity of mind again. Besides, Ricky was doing a perfectly good job of distracting the hunter, he could likely slip away un-noticed. Before he was fully aware of what he was doing, Elod was initiating a hasty retreat, backing hurriedly behind the trees he'd emerged from and breaking into a run.
