Ayre's dark eyes scanned the darkening sky. No clouds covered the moon or any of the stars. The moon shone extremely bright tonight. A slight rumbling echoed in his ear. Thunder? It seemed like to noise of a night for storms. He let out an bored yet content sigh. The Hunter had been working hard during his training and wasn't about to let it all go to waste. He pulled the hat ,that he hated, lower in front of his forehead to shield his face from the chilly winds of night time.
As the broad shouldered man began to walk again there was a flash of lightning and all of the sudden a downpour hit. Ayre chuckled at his misfortune especially when he hadn't seen clouds in the sky before. Or had he? Was the influence of being back in the place he had called home making him delusional? His stupid thoughts made him chuckle again with a slanted smile. Thunder struck the sky making him reach for his metal stake that was sheathed in his belt. Being a hunter for so long made every sound he heard make him grab for a weapon. It was an annoying reflex but it may some day save his life.
Ayre relaxed letting his shoulders droop as the rain relentlessly poured on him. He was stupid enough now to wear a jacket or vest and only a black shirt with thin armor underneath. He looked up at the sky and squinted From the rain falling into his eyes. The moon and stars were completely gone. A groan played upon his lips. The only light to lead him was the street lights. "So this is welcome I get from Dawson."He muttered and brushed water from his forehead.

Galient had taken it upon himself to travel the city alone this night. He walked down the quiet street, staring up at the sky and counting the stars silently. He sighed and stopped walking. He noticed a smell that was familiar, but then wasn't. He had never smelled this before, but it rang a bell oddly. He glanced around and looked for some animal or human that would give off this beautiful and luscious scent. He looked staright forward and noticed a dark figure, slender and tall, standing directly in front of him about 20 feet or so. The man looked like someone he knew...but he knew it couldn't be him. Unless he had been looking for him, and that couldn't be becuase Galient had fled without letting anyone know. At least he thought he did.
Galient took a step back, but unfortunetly, because of his clumsy skills, he tripped on yet another rock and feel backward, making a thump on the ground. Galient hoped to god that he had not made a loud enough sound that the man had heard him. He hoped the rain muffled the thump, but looked in the direction of the silhouette. Lightning flashed and a thought went through Galient's mind: This was not going to be a fun night.

Ayre's head whipped toward the faint thump of a noise. His eyes scanned the area and locked in on a dark figure. He instinctively pulled the metal spike from it sheath. It glinted off the street lights dangerously."Who's there?!"Ayre's booming voice rang out loudly in the rain. He stepped forward slightly. His eyes narrowed.
Ayre's thoughts flashed through many possibilities of who the stranger might be. It seemed to be of a young boy. Not much younger but still young. Ayre immediately knew that if the person posed as a threat he would have to kill it. The falling water blurred his vision slightly as it slid from the brim of his hat and nestled itself upon his long eyelashes. He blinked and took another step forward."Show yourself!"He demanded and straightened his shoulders looking defiantly into the darkness.

Galient gaped at the man. It couldn't be...it just couldn't be him. There was no way. He looked exactly as he did when Galient left. Tall, thin and tan. The three t's that Galient would never forget. Galient straightened himself up sitting amongst the puddles and took a deep breath. Galient let out a chuckle and then some more, letting it seem as if he were going mad. He threw his head back and closed his eyes, leaning against his hands on the hard pavement.
As Galient calmed himself, he lifted himself up onto his knees and stood dangerously close to his friend, letting his scent fill Galient's nostrils. He didn't know if he could fight the urge to drink from this forbidden well, but he knew he would feel awfully guilty and would most likely die if he did. Galient smiled just as the lightning struck, giving the man enough time to catch a glimpse of Galient and hopefully recognize who he was. Galient may look a bit different, but that was expected because of how long they'd been apart. And, hopefully, he wouldn't notice Galient's morphed being. Because if he did, he's have no choice but to kill him...

The males eyebrow raised as the figure before him laughed."Who-"Ayre's words were choked off in his throat as the lightning flashed giving him a glimpse of the figure before him. The edges of his lips curled up as he laughed timidly for a moment as if he couldn't believe his own eyes. His laughter boomed out till he got it under control. A wide grin stretched across his face. "Well if it isn't my my old friend!"Ayre said."Hows it been Galient?"
Being that close to this boy didn't even phase him. It had been many years since his last encounter with Galient. His muscles relaxed and Ayre breathed out a sigh of relief. He sheathed the spike and tipped the edge of his hat up to get a better look. My,my, He has changed quite a lot,Ayre mused. He wondered how this little reunion would go over.

Galient was relieved and a bit dissapointed that Ayre hadn't realized he was a vampire. It was odd. Ayre was the most skilled hunter(except for Stefan) Galient had ever known. He wondered if his skills had gone down because of his age. Galient returned Ayre's grin and patted his shoulder gently. "It's been unusual, Ayre. Everything's been so adventurous, I haven't even been planning to come back."But Galient still had a question when he began to stroll gracefully down the street backwards, awaiting Ayre to follow him in the pounding rain. "So, how did you find me?"He laughed, "Or were you even seeking? Did you just come across this place by accident?"Galient strode on, towards a bar that would certainly have heating. He didn't want Ayre to get sick. He'd be old enough. Maybe 26? Or was he older now? It was too hard to even think. The rain patted down Galient's hair and it felt like he was sweating incredibly. He shook his hair and turned around to the city, going in the direction himself and Ayre had both been going before they'd had their reunion.

Ayre glanced up thoughtfully matching his friends strides with his own. Some had changed about Galient but he couldn't quite place it. It troubled his thoughts. Ayre looked at Galient. "I was just passing by to see if i could find anything.I always seem to find you no matter where I'm at anyway."The male chuckled and put his hands in his pockets. His eyes narrowed slightly as he searched his memory. Then something clicked. Ayre bit down on his tongue to keep from freaking. It all made sense!
"Galient...What exactly happened since I last saw you?"Ayre asked slowly. His tone was accusing but just in wonder and confusion. He wondered if his hint was right. After so many years of being a hunter Ayre was surprised he didn't notice it right away. After so many years he would have suspected that Galient would have changed by a lot. The only thing different was his friends face and body build. Other than that it didn't look like Galient had grown an inch since they last met. Maybe it was genes,Ayre wasn't sure. He could have been right or he could be making the biggest mistake of his life.

Galient licked his teeth, feeling his molers and canines instinctively. He laughed and looked at Ayre, "What do you mean?"He glanced at the bar and ran to it, ducking under the roof and into the main room, where there was a velvet setting by the counter. Galient walked to the bar stools and sat down, ordering a water. The bartender roled his eyes and walked off to make the glass fo water. Maybe Ayre had noticed after all. Galient had that feeling in his stomach again. The one that said this wasn't going to be a fun night. But this time it was for a different reason. It was because his friend wouldn't kill him. And if he did, he'd surely commit suicide. Wouldn't he?
Galient thought it through and realized that maybe Ayre hadn't really noticed anything. Maybe he just noticed Galient's newly broad shoulders and thinner stomach. He sighed and looked up when his glass came to him. Galient gave the bartender a $5 bill and gulped his water down, although it did nothing for his thirst. Galient had hoped to find something to snack on a few minues ago. But that had all gone down the drain, so now he had to deal with water.

"You seem different, more distant."Ayre replied taking a seat next to him at the bar. Of course Galient had always been distant from everybody but this was different. He almost seemed as if he wanted to run away to relieve some pain that troubled him. Ayre sighed. Ayre wanted Galient to look at him so he could see one last thing before his verdict was made. Ayre looked around the bar area. Should I be more straightforward or should I take things slowly? Ayre removed his hat and set it on the counter. He scratched the back of his head and looked back at Galient, waiting for an answer. His other hand rested upon his spike. It felt cold in his hand as if it wanted to be used and warmed up by the blood of his enemies. He dashed those thoughts from his head.

Galient looked at Ayre as he set his glass down on the counter and motioned for a refill. Galient glanced down and nodded his head. "I...found a girl, Ayre, if that's what you're getting at." Galient moved his head back up to see Ayre's face and Galient grinned childishly. That's what he felt like: a child. Compared to Ayre, he was. Ayre was so much more mature and Galient was so...not mature. He had grown up in the last few years, since he had left. He had had to find a way to survive and that sure does make you more mature. Galient swung his seat around, looking out into the bar and only seeing a few people. A chubby caucasian girl with blonde hair and, from Galient's hearing, was named Milfred. Odd name, he thought. He glanced around again and came across two other citizens. One, a tall black woman with luscious lips and long legs and the other a short, fat and bald man. He came up with names for them: Lefanda and Frank-the-furter. Just because Galient wasn't a human didn't mean he hated jokes. He smiled at them and the brown-skinned girl smiled and winked back, sending him a kiss. Galient chuckled and turned to Ayre. "I think she's trying to get your attention..." Galient laughed quietly again and grabbed his drink off of the table and took a sip, looking back at Lefanda.
